Listening to America's "Muskrat Love," "Tin Man," and "Ventura Highway" makes me think of ten years back, when my brother and I would listen to my mom's cassette over and over again. I have no idea what any of these songs mean but it strikes a chord, somehow.
They make me think of old friends, conversations, and laughter from long ago.
So please believe in me
When I say I'm spinning round, round, round, round
Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
Soapsuds green like bubbles

i know exactly what you mean. my dad had a "best of" america cd which my sister and i would listen to incessantly. i really love "tin man" and "muskrat love" even though their lyrics are a bit um weird. "muskrat susie, muskrat sam, do the jitterbug out in muskratland" doesn't exactly put me in the mood for love...
